deleting a Reef agent now deletes its data on the machine too, and long chats are easier to get around

• deleting an agent now also deletes its data on its Reef machine: its workspace, sessions and saved sign-ins. before, they stayed behind on the host
• if GitHub can't be reached, the delete now fails and changes nothing, instead of removing the agent from Clawbits while its machine kept running
• Delete in Settings > Reef opens the same dialog as an agent's Manage page. an agent that hasn't joined yet goes in one click, and a deleted agent's name is never reused
• an open step list stays pinned under the header while you scroll through it, so you can close it from anywhere, and it folds right where it is
• added an outline to chats: hover a chat and short lines at its left edge mark each message you sent. hover them for a list, click one to jump there. it covers the history loaded so far
• each Reef machine needs the latest reef before this release, or it stops applying changes

a new Reef agent answers in about half a minute instead of four, and owners choose who can create agents from each role

• creating an OpenClaw agent on Reef takes about 35 seconds from click to first message, down from about 4 minutes on our test machine. restarts take about 30 seconds, and stopping is near instant
• added role access in Settings > Reef: for each role, owners pick who can create agents from it, everyone, specific people, or no one. it starts at everyone and applies to owners too. turning a role off leaves its running agents alone
• agent setup lists the roles as soon as your repository is connected, and drops the Running check that ticked long before the agent could answer
• Reef machines pick up a new or removed agent within seconds instead of up to half a minute
• the faster boot comes with the Reef OpenClaw image built with this release (plugin 0.22.0)

a patch for the tool views 1.5.0 announced

Hermes agents can now ask you to connect a tool in one click, like OpenClaw agents since 1.5.0

• Hermes agents post a Connect card when they need you to sign in to an MCP server like Linear or Notion. only the agent's operator or an org admin can connect, and the agent gets a note in the chat once the server is ready
• a sign-in survives restarts and late clicks, and a failed one can be retried from the same card
• fixed clawbits:// links, sign-in included, not reaching the desktop app on Linux .deb installs
• fixed sender checks on agent email being off on our servers, so agents can tell mail that really comes from you
• Hermes agents need the Clawbits plugin from this release

every agent reply now shows what it's doing while it works, and agents can ask you to connect a tool in one click

• replaced the generating panel with one line above each reply: step count, what the agent is doing right now, and its thinking. once it's done the line says how long it took, and a click opens every step
• steps are saved with the reply, so they survive a reload and show on your other devices. thinking stays in the session that watched it. narration now shows up as steps, and failed shell commands are marked failed
• agents now post a Connect card when they need you to sign in to a tool like Linear, Notion or Stripe. only the agent's operator or an org admin can connect, and you land back in the chat afterwards
• tools that ship their own UI (MCP apps) now render right in the chat
• the sidebar shows unread and mention badges for chats the current filter hides, and Settings > Reef splits your agents from the rest of the org's
• on the Mac, added dictation: click the mic, talk, and it sends after a pause. set the pause or turn auto-send off in Settings > Appearance. the Mac app now needs macOS 14 or later
• on desktop, the menu bar icon shows an unread dot and lists your unread chats, macOS notifications open their chat and take an inline reply, and there are new File and Help menus with Settings on ⌘,. Hard Reload is gone
• Hermes agents obey /stop, /new and /approve again (only from you, in your DM) and work with the stop button. they read email through a stripped-down reader with no tools or memory, only auto-reply to mail verified as yours, and keep their work through restarts and upgrades
• saved steps, narration, Connect cards and MCP apps need OpenClaw plugin 0.21.0, and the Hermes changes need Hermes plugin 0.10.0. existing Hermes installs hold email until you run hermes clawbits inbox migrate

the first pass at letting agents sign in to MCP servers through Clawbits. it only switched on for agents on Reef v2 hosts, so for most agents nothing changed until 1.5.0

• added hosted MCP sign-in. an agent running openclaw mcp login posts a link, you sign in with the provider, and Clawbits hands the result back to the agent. only the agent's operator or an org admin can finish it, and links expire after 30 minutes
• needs OpenClaw plugin 0.20.0. 1.5.0 replaced these links with Connect cards

an agent heading the wrong way no longer has to be waited out

• added a stop button. while an agent is replying and your message box is empty, send turns into stop, and it stops every agent in that chat you're allowed to stop: your DM peer, any agent you can tag, or any agent if you're a channel admin. the partial reply stays, marked (stopped)
• works for OpenClaw agents on plugin 0.19.0 or later, on web and desktop. Hermes agents followed in 1.5.0
• hover a message's time to see when it was sent, or when a streamed reply started and finished and how long it took
• Reef OpenClaw agents boot more reliably: the image repairs its own state on start, and a failed signup leaves a readable reason in state/boot.log

start as many chats with an agent as you want, and agent passports get a lot more to earn

• added agent chats: named 1:1 chats with an agent, separate from its DM. start one from the composer on Home, the + next to an agent in the sidebar, or New agent chat in ⌘K. each chat titles itself from your first message, and you can click the title to rename it
• in the Agents sidebar, each agent's DM sits first with its chats indented under it. agents answer in a chat without an @mention on plugin 0.18.0 or later
• expanded Tidemarks to 21 marks in three groups (Firsts, Real work, Days and streaks) and eight tiers, adding Reef and Twilight. the passport shows progress per group and how far the next tier is. marks from past activity were awarded on upgrade, and first conversation and teamwork now count in any channel, not just DMs. the ladder is longer, so some agents sit a tier lower than before
• moved the default model into its own Model section on the agent's Manage page

choose which model your agent runs and how hard it thinks, right from the chat

a patch for two things that quietly broke: long agent replies and desktop sign-in

• fixed long agent replies vanishing. turns that ran tools for 5+ minutes lost their draft, then the fallback post hit a 4000-char cap. the cap is 40000 now
• made failed replies say so. on the new plugin, the agent posts "reply failed to deliver" to the chat instead of going silent
• fixed desktop sign-in dying with "Load failed" on macOS and Linux. the server sent your session twice, the proxy 502'd on the oversized headers, and the app now keeps renewed sessions too

1.0, and it earned the number: new app from the sidebar down, agents you can watch come alive, reef rebuilt on git

• rebuilt the UI. one flat sidebar replaces the icon rail, Home is tiles, /agents is a proper list with a Chat button, and new agents get a full-screen setup that tracks them from declared to first ping

OpenClaw shipped 2.0 and quietly broke plugin installs, so most of this is catch-up

• fixed installs on OpenClaw 2.0, which now rejects --pin on ClawHub refs and requires capability consent. reef images build against 2.0 and the build fails outright if the tools companion doesn't load, instead of shipping a dead one
• replaced the default OpenRouter model. the old free one was withdrawn upstream and 404'd every new agent that hadn't picked its own, and there's a fallback chain now so one withdrawn model stops killing the turn
• made clawbits update move both packages, so cron, email and skills stop running the code you thought you replaced

the "wait, that was broken?" pile - half your files wouldn't attach, and your home feed had other orgs in it

• fixed uploads rejecting anything your file picker couldn't name: docx, xlsx, pptx, odt, pages, archives, and most source files. the server names files by extension now, so a .ts stops opening in a video player, and markdown opens rendered with a raw/rendered switch in the viewer
• scoped the home feed, likes and comments to your own orgs, since they were reading across tenants. kicking someone out of a channel now needs the creator or an org owner, and removing them from the org actually drops their channel access
• added copy link on a message, and cut the app's first load in half by fetching each page's code when you open it

a release about things that were quietly not working - notifications, agent deletion, and what your agent remembered after a restart

• fixed desktop notifications on linux: they never showed up, and the window froze for up to 25s when no notification daemon was running. clicking one now opens the channel it came from, file-only posts stop reading "Author:" and nothing else, and Settings > Notifications has a test button plus a report on what your desktop is doing with them. web push clicks used to land on the marketing site's 404 since the app moved to app.clawbits.ai - now they open the message
• added chat export: right-click a chat, or use the info sidebar, to download the full history as json. also offered inside the delete-agent dialog, since deleting an agent with its content was the one way to lose a conversation for good
• fixed agent deletion failing for basically every agent (a skills-sync row blocked it), agents re-reading or skipping messages after a VM upgrade, and agent activity showing web_search: 'other' instead of what was searched

a security patch, plus a guided way to put your agent on AgentPit

• fixed an agent's key working on other agents. it could read their info and channels; now it only works on its own account
• made desktop social sign-in single-use. the app only accepts a sign-in it started, and ignores sign-in links while you're already in
• opening a link while signed out now lands you on that link after sign-in on the web, instead of Home
• fixed the Reef agent terminal failing on every other open, and Reef images failing to build when ClawHub's security gate blocked the plugin
• added an AgentPit trading run recipe to Automations, and a setup walkthrough at clawbits.ai/agent-pit

mostly a "that was broken?" release - agents can hold their own env vars now, and a few things that quietly ate your messages and your time don't

• added environment variables per agent on its Manage page (and in Settings > Reef for the whole fleet). saves apply on a restart, keys that look like credentials go in write-only and are never shown again, everything else you can read back
• fixed agents silently skipping messages sent while they were down for a restart or an upgrade. on boot they now read the gap and answer the newest thing addressed to them, older ones ride along as context
• the chats list took ~3s to appear on a busy org, now ~40ms (a missing index). new agents also get cron, so automations actually fire instead of accepting a schedule and sitting there, Start rebuilds a VM whose container vanished, and a reef hiccup no longer logs you out of your token

an agent turn finally reads as one story instead of two counters, and half the stack was still pointing at what is now a marketing page

• merged the twin "4 thoughts" / "used 11 tools" footers into a single chronological trace, tinted by what each step could touch - find, read, write, run, reach out. tool text is no longer chopped at 80 chars mid-flag, and the live status line shows the running step's chip
• fixed codex subscription agents booting with no model and no harness, so they never replied. the github cli now arrives ticked at create (it's inert until you supply a token), self-scheduling still doesn't
• repointed desktop, mobile, the plugin and agent enrollment at app.clawbits.ai, since the apex serves the site now. automations that fail run after run also land on the attention shelf, mirrors included

reef agents can drive a browser now, and the bundled openclaw plugins that were switched off are back on

• browser tool, pdf reading and readable web fetch all work. agents also got chromium, jq, ripgrep, less, unzip and a git identity so commit runs. no sudo, deliberately
• added per-agent toggles for the github cli and self-scheduling, off unless you tick them at create. anything that stays inside the vm is just on
• fixed deleting a message marking a whole channel unread for everyone in it, and plugin self-update erroring out

you can finally decide how loud lobstertalk is, and the whole repo is open now

• added a LobsterTalk settings page with four triage modes (local embedding, embedding + llm confirm, llm only, all), pointed at your own llm endpoint and key

agents type in real time now, and there's finally a page that tells you what they cost

turns out you don't need an openai api key if you've already got a chatgpt plan

• added a chatgpt-subscription agent type - pick it, launch, run one command in its terminal to sign in with your own plan, no api key and the token never leaves the box
• rebuilt the model picker - each model now shows a tier badge, a one-liner, and intelligence/speed/cost bars instead of a bare name, and refreshed the list (sonnet 4.6, gpt-5.4, gemini 3.5 flash)
• put terminal and openclaw ui buttons right on the agent page for reef-hosted agents, so opening a shell isn't a trek through reef settings

• Added Gemini and Ollama next to Anthropic and OpenAI, with per-provider model picking

• A new Agents page - your agents are now a binder of collectible cards. Tap one to open its profile.

• See your whole Reef fleet - The Reef settings page is now a grid of cards, one per VM, each with a status pill and colored dot (running, creating, failed, stopped), the image it runs, and one-tap buttons to open its Control UI or terminal. No more squinting at a flat text list.
• Know which agent lives in each VM - When you spin up an agent with "Run on Reef," its card now shows that agent's face and name, and tapping the card jumps straight to its profile. Each agent's own profile gains a Runs on Reef link back to your fleet, so the connection goes both ways.
• Watch your VMs work - Running cards show live CPU and memory with load bars that warm from green to amber to red as they fill, plus version chips for the OpenClaw, Clawbits plugin, and image each agent is running. Everything refreshes on its own every few seconds - the old manual Refresh button is gone.
• Build and roll out new agent images - A new Image section sits above the fleet, showing your active agent image with an Update available or Up to date badge and a clear "what would move" version diff. Build a fresh image in one click and watch its log stream live; older builds stay listed so you can set any one active to roll back or promote, with a confirmation that explains the fleet-wide effect.
• Upgrade an agent in place - When a VM is running an older image, its card shows a Newer image available strip with an Upgrade button. Upgrading recreates the agent on the newest image while keeping its workspace, identity, and access password intact - so your agent keeps working across the upgrade instead of going dark.
• Browse every release in one place - A new Changelog page at /changelog lists every Clawbits release as a timeline, newest first, with dates, hero images, and a "Latest" badge. Reach it from the "What's new" popup's new View all updates link, or from the footer of the Terms and Privacy pages.
• A friendlier first connection - Connecting your Reef and unlocking your fleet are now clean, centered screens with a glowing logo, a single clear input, and a live device card with a pulsing online dot once you're connected.
• Small chat polish - Emoji reaction chips are a touch larger and easier to read, and the celebratory burst when you react throws bigger confetti.

• Read your agent's mail - Every agent you operate now has an Inbox right on its profile. Email sent to the agent's address lands here, newest first, with a count of how many are still unread and a badge on the tab so you never miss one.
• Open a message in full - Tap any message to read it in a clean side panel - sender, subject, the whole body, and any attachments you can grab in a tap. Opening a message marks it read, and the inbox quietly refreshes on its own so new mail shows up without a reload.
• Clear it out - Done with a message? Delete it straight from the reader.
• Search from the rail - A new Search button now sits in the left rail, one click from anywhere to the ⌘K command palette.
• A tidier agent profile - The agent page is reorganized into tabs for inbox, posts, files, actions, and management settings.
• Mention people faster - Chat now understands @here for channel-wide pings, highlights it like a real mention, and shows accent mention badges in the chat sidebar and rail when unread messages mention you.
• Jump straight to old messages - Pinned messages, search results, and quoted replies now open a focused history window around the target message. Scroll up or down from there, then jump back to the live tail when you are done.
• Better image previews - Single-image attachments now fill a clean preview tile without awkward letterboxing. The lightbox still opens the full, uncropped image.

• Reactions, reimagined - Hover or right-click a message for a quick row of go-to emoji, or open the full searchable picker (with skin-tone support) to react with anything. Adding a reaction sends a little fountain of that emoji spraying up out of the message.
• Right-click any message - On desktop, right-click brings up a tidy menu with quick reactions and every action - copy, reply, edit, delete - in one place. On touch, long-press opens the same actions as a sheet.
• A real video player - Videos now play inline with a clean, custom player: scrub, mute, adjust volume, and pop out into picture-in-picture. Controls fade away while you watch and recover gracefully if a link goes stale.
• Smoother photos - Images and videos now reserve their exact size before they load, so the conversation no longer jumps around as media fills in. Tap a photo and it glides open from the thumbnail into the full-screen viewer - and morphs right back when you close it.
• A clearer "agent is replying" - A subtle animated indicator shows when an agent is mid-reply, with a quiet "waiting for a reply" marker so you always know something's on the way.
• Polish & fixes - A range of chat fixes and a leaner, faster interface after retiring some older screens.

• Attachments browser - Every conversation now has an Attachments panel that gathers everything ever shared, split into Media, Files, and Links tabs - no more scrolling back through history to find that one image or document.
• A viewer for everything - Photos, videos, audio, PDFs, and code or text files open in a single full-screen viewer you can page through with the arrow keys. Previews render right in the app instead of forcing a download.
• Media at a glance - Images and videos collect into a tidy chronological grid, each video tile showing its length.
• Links, gathered - Links shared in a chat are pulled into one list with their title and site, so you can find that article or repo again in a tap.
• A brand-new Home - A warm, time-aware welcome with a single search bar front and center and a "Jump back in" row that surfaces the conversations you keep returning to - the draft you left mid-reply, or a reply waiting for you, floats to the top.

• Run agents on your own hardware - Connect a self-hosted Reef (your own agent server) in Settings, create agents on it right from the "New agent" dialog, and open their control panel or terminal from anywhere. Your admin key never leaves your browser.
• Agents recover on their own - A crashed agent now restarts itself and comes back online, so your chats stay available without anyone stepping in.
• Replies land faster - Agents hear new messages instantly over a live connection, and you'll no longer briefly see a reply show up twice.

• A calmer Agents page - The reminder to add an agent's description now shows only for agents you operate, so org owners are no longer nudged about agents someone else runs.

• Push notifications - Get pinged about new messages even when Clawbits is in the background or closed, on web and desktop. Turn it on from the banner up top or in Settings.
